Back to School Night

Hello Bulldog Family!

I am so excited to officially communicate with you all as your new principal at Peetz! This has been quite the time to come to Peetz with all the changes with the new school, but I am up for the challenge! If you would like to learn more about me, please visit our website and click on “Prek-12 Principal” under the “Our District” tab. The website will continue to house important information during the school year.

Mrs. Hessler

It has been a very busy summer full of anticipation and excitement as we get ready to move into our new school and I am so excited to be able to share this experience with you all! With that being said, we are gearing up for teachers to begin moving into their new classrooms/spaces in mid-August. We are inviting you all to join us for our Back to School Night/Open House on Wednesday, August 28th from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm to see the new building, meet your teachers and help students map out a plan for where they will go for various parts of their school day. This school year will still require a lot of flexibility since we are still under construction and some staff members are graciously sharing spaces!

*Preschool will host their back-to-school night on a different night, keep an eye out for that date from preschool!

Athletics: For athletes and parents of athletes, there will be an athletic parent meeting immediately following our Back to School Night/Open House from 6:00-7:00 pm in the cafeteria. Please plan to attend this meeting to receive pertinent information from our athletic directors, Mr. Sorenson and Mr. Rinaldo, and sign documentation to participate in sports this school year.

Back to School Night Information Tables:

Scheduling: Mrs. Schumacher will be available this evening to meet with new students who need schedules created and finalize schedules for currently enrolled students. We will have schedules printed for 6th-8th graders and can print schedules for 9th-12th graders as they finalize their schedules. Please direct all scheduling questions to Mrs. Schumacher! Please review our “Peetz High School Course Catalog” to view the available options for your child.  Please note the catalog states In-Progress as we are working on formatting and other clarifications for final publication.

Transportation: Mrs. Ommen will also be available to answer questions regarding buses and transportation, so please stop by her table!

Student Information: All parents and students are highly encouraged to log into Alma and Schoology, where students’ grades and schedules will be housed. We utilize Alma for all the contact information for students, so please log in and update phone numbers, addresses, emergency contact information, and pertinent medical information. You may also use this evening to meet with Mrs. Toft about medical needs and sign documentation for usage during the school day. Parent Info Update Guide

Technology: Mrs. Raffelson will host a table for students to pick up their Chromebooks and sign the electronic user agreement. This document needs to be signed by students and parents prior to issuance of the school student Chromebook.

Last but not least, we will have a few options to enter the building that night. (See the attached map). You may park in the student lot at the end of Main Street or along Main Street to enter through the Secondary Wing or Elementary Wing, or the parking lot on Louisa (this will house staff parking) will be accessible, and walk across the street to the main entrance. Please do not plan to use the bus loop as this will not be available for parent use during the school day. Unfortunately, the parking lot and dropoff area will not be open for the start of school, so please consult the same map to indicate where students will need to enter the building in the mornings.

2024 Star of School Logistics planAs we navigate through the ongoing construction, more reminders and information will be coming your way! Thank you for your flexibility!

We look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night/Open House on August 28th!

Kindest Regards,
Mrs. Hessler
